Log a session

Drop a pin on your break, rate the waves, and note wave size, shape, surface, vibe and crowd. Pick the board you rode from your quiver and share the log with your crew.

For every log we pull the actual swell, wind and tide from Open-Meteo Marine, so your ratings are tied to real conditions, not memory.

Get a personalized forecast

Your rated sessions train a multi-modal model that scores every forecast hour against the surf you actually enjoy. The more you log, the sharper it gets.

Crews learn together

Share selected logs with your crew and Wavebook combines them into an enriched, per-spot forecasting model built from the sessions the group has enjoyed together.

The forecast board shows the next days as a day strip. Each day expands into hourly columns scored Good, Fair or Poor for you.

  1. Swell 1 and Swell 2 rows show height, period and direction arrows sized by swell power.
  2. Wind arrows scale with wind speed so you spot onshore gusts at a glance.
  3. A smooth tide curve runs through the same time table.
  4. The map pans and zooms to whichever spot you are checking.

Condition modes

Instead of one average, Wavebook surfaces up to three modes — the distinct condition combinations that produced your best sessions.

  1. Mode A is usually your most common good-session profile.
  2. Modes B and C capture different swell windows or tide states you also like.
  3. After about 25 rated sessions the model switches to an optimized weighting that sharpens each mode.
  4. Every forecast hour is scored against the modes for the spot you selected.

Logbook

A session log is more than a rating. It is the training signal that makes your forecast personal.

  1. Pick or register the spot, then set date and time.
  2. Rate the session and fill in wave size, breaking shape, surface condition, vibe and crowd.
  3. Choose the board you used from your quiver.
  4. Share with all crews or select specific crews in the advanced sharing panel.

My spots

Register the breaks you actually surf. Each spot gets its own condition model and match radius.

  1. Tap the map to drop a pin, or use your GPS location as a starting point.
  2. Set a match radius in your preferred unit system — metric or imperial.
  3. Wavebook matches past logs to the spot within that radius.
  4. You can save up to 50 spots.

Quiver

Keep your boards in one place so you can tag the right stick for every session.

  1. Add each board with name, length, volume and a photo.
  2. Select the board when logging a session.
  3. You can register up to 10 boards.

Crews

Surf with the same people? Create a crew, invite them with a code, and build a shared forecast model.

  1. Create a crew from the Crews page. You become the owner.
  2. Share the invite code so others can join as requesters.
  3. Owners and admins can promote requesters to seeder or viewer.
  4. Seeders can share logs; viewers can read the enriched crew forecast.
  5. The crew forecast defaults to the spot with the most shared logs, but you can switch breaks to rebuild the model per spot.

Profile

Set the basics so Wavebook speaks your language and uses your units.

  1. Upload an avatar.
  2. Choose metric or imperial units.
  3. Pick your language from the language switcher.

Frequently asked questions

How many sessions do I need before the forecast is useful?+

You will see match scores after just a few rated sessions, but the model really sharpens once you have logged around 25 sessions at a spot.

Where does the conditions data come from?+

Wavebook uses Open-Meteo Marine, a free global marine weather API, for swell, wind and tide data.

Who can see my logs?+

Your logs are private by default. You choose whether to share each log with all your crews, specific crews, or no one at all.

Is Wavebook free?+

Wavebook is free for personal use within the current spot, board and crew limits.
